I've updated the drivers to what came with the monitor and so the monitor name shows in the windows settings, and all software updates have been installed. My new monitor is supposed to be 2560 x 1440 but only 1920 x 1080 shows in the Windows settings or the AMD Catalyst Control Centre settings.
